'Doctor Who' Event; Fourth of July 5K, Parades, Picnics, Fireworks; Autism Speaks 5K; Art Walk: MoCo Weekend Events

Friday, July 3

• Montgomery Village celebrates July 4 a day early with their annual 5K Run and Parade.
• Visit Glen Echo Park for the Art Walk from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy strolling through the open studios, artists demonstrations and more.
• Downtown Live free outdoor concert in Silver Spring tonight features pop and rock music by the Forty Nine Cent Dress band at 6:30 p.m.
• Lakefront Live outdoor concert features rock and pop music by the Lloyd Dobler Effect band at 6:30 p.m. in Gaithersburg.
• Are you a Doctor Who fan? Then you may want to check out Barnes & Noble’s “Get Pop-Cultured” event featuring trivia and giveaways at 7 p.m.

Saturday, July 4

• The 15th Annual Autism Speaks 5K Run begins at the Potomac Library at 6:30 a.m.
• The 20th Annual Kensington Bike Parade lines up at 9:45 a.m. at St. Paul Park. Parade begins at 10 a.m.
• Barnes and Noble’s “Get Pop-Cultured” month-long series today focuses on Magic Treehouse Dinosaurs Before Dark at 10 a.m. and Outlander at 2 p.m.
• The Takoma Park Independence Day Parade begins at 10 a.m.
• Adventure Theatre presents Garfield, The Musical with Cattitude at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Glen Echo Park.
• The Town of Chevy Chase invites residents to enjoy thier Independence Day Parade and Picnic at the Lawton Community Recreation Center
• Round House Theatre in Bethesda presents the comedy Impossible! A Happenstance Circus at 3 p.m.
• The No BS! Brass Band performs on the front lawn of the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown at 7 p.m. Bring lawn chairs to enjoy this free outdoor concert.

Sunday, July 5

• Adventure Theatre presents Garfield, The Musical with Cattitude at 11 a.m., 2 and 4:30 p.m. in Glen Echo Park.

• Round House Theatre in Bethesda presents the comedy Impossible! A Happenstance Circus at 3 p.m.
