The Montgomery County Public Schools system placed Rodriguez on administrative leave as soon as they learned of the allegations in February 2017, police said.

Rodriguez faed charges of sexual abuse of a minor, two counts of third-degree sex offense and two counts of fourth-degree sex offense by a person in a position of authority, police said.

The principal of Rock View Elementary School, Kristine Alexander, called the allegations "disturbing" and "completely unacceptable" in a letter she sent home to parents.

"This behavior does not reflect the principles and values of MCPS or our community, and it will not be tolerated," she wrote.
