Scholarship Fund Set Up For Kensington's Late 'Big Josh' of 9:30 Club

The fund at the University of Maryland College Park will benefit the Students Entertainment Enterprise program.

One of Washington, D.C.'s most beloved club figures, Josh "Big Josh" Burdette, is being remembered through a scholarship fund with the University of Maryland College Park, DCist.com reported.

Burdette, 36, was found dead Labor Day weekend at his Kensington home. He graduated from Maryland with a degree in Psychology, according to DCist, before working with the 9:30 Club as head of security.

Burdette's scholarship will benefit the Student Entertainment Enterprises (SEE), a program that Burdette not only led as president while a student, but also returned as a mentor.
