Talking Horse, Dawson’s Doggie Dip and More in Montgomery County this Weekend

Yard Sale Christ the King Church 
• Where:  Christ the King Church, Silver Spring
• When:  Saturday, June 22, 8 a.m. 
• Description:  Community yard sale. The event is in the east parking lot directly in front of the small Religious Education Building (bathrooms location).
• Cost: Free

Meet our amazing "Talking Horse" at Woodland Horse Center
• Where:  16301 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring
• When:  Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m.
• Description:  Families are welcome to come out and meet the amazing talking 
horse. There will also be pony rides.  Donations are being accepted for Children’s Hospital.
• Cost: Free

Dawson's Doggy Dip
• Where:  225 N Washington St Rockville
• When:  Saturday, June 22, 12 p.m.
• Description:  Dog lovers are invited to bring their canine companions out to Dawson’s for a dip.  Dawson’s provides shampoo and water and participants do 
the washing.  Vendors will be there to provide all sorts of doggy fun.

Alex's Run
• Where:  4501 Olney Laytonsville Rd Olney
• When:  Sunday, June 23, 8 a.m.
• Description:  Alex's Run is a community 5k run/walk for participants of ALL abilitity levels.  Proceeds benefit the Alex Popeck Never Back Down Foundation, 
a 501 (C)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides college scholarships to selected graduates of Montgomery County high schools.

Suburban Hospital's Ready, Set, Grow! Pediatrics Festival
• Where:  8600 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda
• When:  Saturday, June 22, 1 p.m.
• Description:  Visitors are invited to celebrate the 10 Hospital’s pediatrics department.  There will be sports celebrities, face painting, clowns, dance workshops, magic shows and more.
• Cost:  Free


Chevy Chase Library--author FRED BOWEN
• Where:  Chevy Chase Library
• When:  Saturday, June 22, 1 p.m. 
• Description:  Author talk with FRED BOWEN, writer of an action-packed sports fiction series for kids.  His latest book is Perfect Game about a boy who wants to be a perfect pitcher.  For kids 8-12, families.
• Cost:  Free


Free Concert! Avanti Masterwork Festival Orchestra of FMMC
• Where:  7995 Georgia Ave Silver Spring
• When:  Saturday, June 22, 7:30 p.m.
• Description:  Under the direction of Pablo Saelzer, the Avanti Masterwork Festival Orchestra of FMMC performs Sergei Prokofiev‘s Symphony No. 5.  Prokofiev himself describes his 5th symphony as “a symphony about the spirit of man.”
• Cost:  Free
