Who's Giving Out Freebies on National Donut Day, June 7?

Free (and practically free) food alert!

Two doughnut (or donut, depending on your spelling preference) shops in the area are planning to celebrate National Doughnut Day with sweet giveaways Friday. 

Krispy Kreme locations in Rockville and Dupont Circle will give out one free doughnut of any kind all day. Dunkin' Donuts—practically on every corner in Montgomery County—will give a free donut to everyone who buys a drink.

While we're talking doughnuts, the assortment at Woodmoor Pastry Shop in Silver Spring was rated favorably by The Washington Post during its Dozen Weeks of Doughnuts challenge. Their treats are not free Friday, but might be worth the extra change.
