Anne Arundel ZIP Code Ranked Richest in America

The ZIP code places you in on Gibson Island in Anne Arundel County, and according to a recent study done by Movoto, the real estate brokerage site, it’s the richest ZIP code in the nation.

The Movoto Real Estate Blog took data from the Census’ American Community Survey from 2008 to 2012 and examined zip codes based on per capita income. The result was a map of the richest (and poorest) ZIP codes in America.

Homes on Gibson Island cost somewhere in the millions, according to Movoto. The island has been home to VIPs such as the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshal, “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajack and Godfrey A. Rockefeller.

Residents in the 21056 had a median per capita income of $264,393, over $50,000 more than the runner-up ZIP code in Houston, TX.
