Andy Hoverman Files for District 39 Delegate
Local attorney, Maryland politics, House of Delegates, Democrat, Montgomery Village, Germantown, Washington Grove, Gaithersburg, Clarksburg

ANNAPOLIS – Montgomery Village Attorney Andy Hoverman formally filed October 10, 2017 with the State Board of Elections his candidacy for the House of Delegates. Hoverman, a Democrat, has been an active figure in the community volunteering at the Gaithersburg and Germantown Legal Clinics and having previously served on the board of the Christopher Court Condominium Association.
“I’m really excited and honored to formally file to run for a seat in the House of Delegates. I think the people of this district deserve a strong advocate in the statehouse, and I will work hard on their behalf. I have ideas on many key issues I plan to bring forward over the next four years. Transportation continues to get worse, and a fresh approach is desperately needed.”
“I believe strongly in ensuring that public schools are given the proper resources, higher education is affordable to all who want to attend, and that we take a proactive approach to student debt. After all, I am a proud product of public schools from Kindergarten through law school.”

Hoverman, an attorney who largely practices family law, also points to the short comings he sees affecting those needing help in the legal system. “There are several issues in family law that Maryland lags behind other states, whether it is divorce or child custody. Some of these issues are more embarrassing than others, but it is a burden on Maryland families. It is unacceptable to me to leave the issues that truly impact people’s day-to-day lives unaddressed.”
“Overall, I want people to be able to contact their delegate with a concern – whether it is a pothole or policy – and they know they will be heard and their issue addressed. Constituent service is a top priority of my campaign no matter what the issue.”

“I look forward to a positive, issues based campaign. I look forward to meeting people, and listening to their concerns.”
