Gaithersburg Crime: 6 Residential Burglaries, Sex Assault and More

Montgomery County police released a crime summary for July 8-16. The following incidents were reported in Gaithersburg.

• A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 9900 block of Shelburne Terrace in Gaithersburg on Monday, July 8 at 11:10 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. 
• An attempted theft from vehicle occurred in the 18100 block of Royal Bonnet Circle in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, July 10, at 7:49 p.m. The suspects attempted to enter a vehicle but did not obtain property. 
• A residential burglary occurred in the 12100 block of Suffolk Terrace in Gaithersburg between Wednesday, July 10, at 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 11, at 9 p.m. No further information is available at this time.
• A sex offense occurred on the trails in the wooded area behind the 10300 block of Apple Ridge Drive in Gaithersburg at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. The suspect inappropriately touched the victim. 
• An armed robbery occurred in the 400 block of West Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg on Friday, July 12, around 9:45 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. 
• A residential burglary occurred in the 19000 block of Coltfield Court in Gaithersburg on Friday, July 12, around 1 a.m. No forced entry; property taken. 
• A residential burglary occurred in the 700 block of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg between Friday, July 12, at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 13, around 3 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.
• A residential burglary occurred in the 100 block of Kendrick Place in Gaithersburg on Sunday, July 14, at 5:11 p.m. No forced entry; unknown what was taken.
• A residential burglary occurred in the 5400 block of Olney Laytonsville Road in Laytonsville between Sunday, 7/14 at 1:00 p.m. and Monday, 7/15 at 6:00 a.m. Forced entry to a shed; property taken.
• An armed robbery occurred in the 600 block of West Side Drive in Gaithersburg on Tuesday, July 16, around 1 a.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.
• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 19800 block of Cochrane Way in Gaithersburg on Tuesday, July 16, at 2:56 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
• A total of 8 thefts from vehicles occurred during this period.
