In celebration of its hallmark Music Center’s 10th anniversary, Strathmore presents a gala featuring iconic actress Julie Andrews.
The 10th Anniversary Spring Gala will include “An Evening with Julie Andrews,” including a Q&A with the audience.

Andrews has been a beloved star on stage, screen and television. She was already performing on Broadway when she made her film debut in 1964’s “Mary Poppins,” a performance which won her an Academy Award. The following year she won a second Oscar nomination and won another Golden Globe Award for her performance as Maria Trapp in “The Sound of Music.”
A younger film audience may be familiar with her roles in “The Princess Diaries,” “The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement,” and her voice in “Shrek 2,” “Shrek the Third,” “Shrek Goes Fourth,” “Disney’s Enchanted,” and “Despicable Me.”

Andrews will not be singing at the event, but she will share clips and stories about her career.
Music will be performed by the Strathmore Children’s Chorus.
Since its opening in 2005, over 1.8 million people have attended a performance in the music Center and more have gone for programs, special events, free community concerts and festivals. There have been nearly 2,000 performances in the Music Center since its opening.
