First District officers are investigating a hit-and-run collision that occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, on Hungerford Drive (Route 355) at Frederick Avenue in Rockville.

Today, officers are releasing surveillance video of the striking vehicle, a newer model black Cadillac Escalade, and are asking the public for help in identifying the driver.

Preliminary investigation has determined that the black Cadillac Escalade was traveling north on Hungerford Drive approaching Frederick Avenue and for reasons still under investigation, struck a Mercedes that was also traveling north.  After striking the Mercedes, the Escalade pulled into a nearby parking lot and then traveled north on Hungerford Drive.

The Escalade will have damage to the right wheel and fender area.  

The driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes was not injured.

Anyone with information about the Cadillac Escalade or its driver is asked to call the 1st District Station at 240-773-6070.
