The Observer’s Report: Call for a Recount

The recent Whetstone Assessment Ballot Count cannot stand.
As the sole observer at the ballot count event, I have demanded a recount and request that absentee Whetstone board members show a little interest in the vote. It must be noted that only two board members showed up for the count on 26 October held a week after the vote deadline.
Here are some questions to consider:

1. Was the ballot count conducted in the best possible way?
2. Was the ballot count meeting agenda followed with respect to the promised presentation of the validation process and the number of residents participating in the vote?
3. Were errors made?
4. Was the wrong equation used in determining pass/fail?
5. Were the number of households and the number of valid ballots mixed up and confused in the process?
6. Was the Whetstone Homes Corporation Increase of Maximum Annual Assessment cover letter in the ballot envelop sent to residents in error when it used 60% rather than 2/3 in stating, “The Whetstone Homes Corporation requires the assent of 60% of the total votes of all classes of Members of those voting upon written ballot in order to increase the maximum amount of the assessment”?
7. Asking again, was the ballot count done in the best possible way?
8. Should there be a recount in order to achieve accurate results and regain the trust of the residents of Whetstone?
The Whetstone Assessment Increase Ballot is a disputed vote. The ballot count cannot stand. The Whetstone Board has two choices:
1. It can set aside the vote and attempt another vote in the future or
2. It can take a step towards restoring trust by conducting a fresh recount with different people. A recount must be done within 30 days of the vote count.

For my part, I request, recommend, and demand a recount conducted by different people.
