• The Tim Whalen Quintet performs the music of legendary Bud Powell at the Strathmore Mansion at 7:30 p.m.
• The Fabulous Hubcaps perform at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club at 8 p.m.
• Montgomery College presents the rock opera Rent at the Rockville Campus at 8 p.m.
• Olney Theatre’s production of Godspell continues with a show at 8 p.m.
• Montgomery Playhouse’s production of Boeing, Boeing continues at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 8 p.m.
• The Merchant of Venice is presented at the Music Center at Strathmore by Folger Consort at 8 p.m.
• The Victorian Lyric Opera Company presents Haddon Hall in Rockville at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at 8 p.m.

Saturday, February 28

• Rockville Lunar New Year Celebration takes place at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at 10 a.m. This free event features samples of Asian food and a variety of performances honoring Rockville’s Asian cultures.
• Visit Glen Echo Park’s Art Explorers Family Studio for drop-in parent/child art activities from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Adventure Theatre production of Petite Rouge, A Cajun Red Riding Hood has shows at 11 a.m., 2 and 4:30 p.m. in Glen Echo Park.
• Imagination Stage presents Wiley and the Hairy Man at 1:30 and 4 p.m.
• Meet novelist Dan Fesperman at the Olney Theatre for a discussion and book-signing of his book Unmanned at 5 p.m.
• BlackRock Center for the Arts presents the Québec based folk group Le Vent du Nord at 8 p.m.
• The Tom Principato Band performs at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club at 8 p.m.
• Montgomery College presents the rock opera Rent at the Rockville Campus at 8 p.m.
• Olney Theatre’s production of Godspell continues with shows at 2 and 8 p.m.
• Montgomery Playhouse’s production of Boeing, Boeing has a performance at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 8 p.m.
• The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performs Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite at the Music Center at Strathmore at 8 p.m.

Sunday, March 1
