TimberNook of Central Maryland Launches Outdoor Camps in Gaithersburg
New camp program prepares for it's first season and opens enrollment to local families.

TimberNook of Central Maryland, an outdoor camp for children that integrates sensory experiences, imagination, and nature, invites families to register now to secure a spot in the camp’s first session in July of 2016.
TimberNook of Central Maryland offers children the chance to play together and independently, using stories, games, and experiences to have fun, learn, develop, and explore their surroundings. New TimberNook provider and owner of TimberNook of Central Maryland, Christine Force, is looking forward to the camp’s first session.
Christine is a physical therapist who has worked exclusively with children for the past four years. She has seen firsthand the effects that increased academics and technology, and decreased outdoor play can have on children. Christine became a TimberNook provider in order to bring the unique therapeutic benefits of nature to all children. “I'm so excited to be the first physical therapist to become a licensed TimberNook provider," said Force. "I think that if all children were given a little more time to play, a little more time outdoors, we would see a huge impact on school performance and health."

Angela Hanscom, TimberNook Founder, CEO, and pediatric occupational therapist, anticipates an exciting future for TimberNook of Central Maryland, and hopes families will take advantage of the camp’s first sessions. “At our camp, we use the environment as a “third teacher” to enhance child development and foster creativity,” said Hanscom. “It’s amazing to see children explore their surroundings, take risks, play, build and dive into their imaginations – all while enjoying the great outdoors.”
TimberNook of Central Maryland will be holding a free Launch event for interested families on July 17, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This will serve as a kick-off to the camp's first session which begins July 18th.
