Volunteer to Clean County Parks for MLK 2015 Day of Service

Park and stream cleanups are scheduled at locations around Montgomery County.

In honor and celebration of the works of Martin Luther King Jr., Americans across the country are signing up for a National Day of Service.

In Montgomery County, residents can join in by volunteering to help with park and stream cleanups.

Montgomery Parks, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, will have park cleanup projects from Jan. 17 to 20 at locations throughout the county. Projects have already been planned for Aspen Hill, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Damascus, Silver Spring, Takoma Park and Wheaton. Other projects may still be added as the weekend approaches.

Student Service Learning hours are available for all the volunteer projects.
