The theme of Friday’s Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives show will be family legacies, which fits Miss Shirley’s just right since it was founded by the late Eddie Dopkin, a Baltimore restaurateur whose son David Dopkin now manages the business.

Food Network filmed the episode in October but everyone had to keep it a secret, so Miss Shirley’s is bursting at the seams to share, according to WJZ.

The restaurant has been counting down the days to its national TV debut this week in creative ways, such as with a whipped cream number “5” atop a stack of pancakes, shared on Facebook five days before the show’s airing.

Watch Miss Shirley’s on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives on the Food Network at 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15.

Miss Shirley’s is at 513 West Cold Spring Lane in Baltimore. It’s open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It also has locations on 750 E. Pratt Street in Baltimore and 1 Park Place in Annapolis.
