Darnestown Pizzeria Again Gets Spot On Essential Restaurants List
A Darnestown pizzeria has, once again, snagged a spot on an essential summer restaurants list.
DARNESTOWN, MD — Darnestown's Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana has — once again — made it on Eater's list of 38 Essential Restaurants in D.C. for summer 2019.
Yes, Darnestown isn't in the District. But if a Montgomery County restaurant is on a list of essential D.C. restaurants, then it must be good.
The list, released on July 16, features a total of — you guessed it — 38 dining destinations. Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana is the only Montgomery County eatery to make the list.

The 44-seat casual pizzeria, located at 12207 Darnestown Rd., keeps a menu that is strictly seasonal and based on the local agriculture, according to Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana's website.
Dishes include Margherita pizza with San Marzanos tomatoes, Fior di Latte, olive oil, and basil; roasted beets with Lingonberry jam, yogurt, and peppered walnuts; oven roasted potato and onion pizza with smoked mozzarella and rosemary; and affogato — an Italian coffee-based dessert.

Yum...anyone else hungry?
Here's what Eater has to say about the restaurant:
"D.C. is experiencing a gilded age of Neapolitan pizza, so trekking out to the far reaches of the Maryland suburbs may not be the most judicious use of time for casual visitors to the city. But for folks who dream of puffy, wood-torched crusts, the trip to Tony Conte's strip mall gem is undoubtedly worth the effort."
