Drone Video of Dead Mall Called 'Creepy'
A YouTube video of a drone flying over the crumbling White Flint Mall has Rockville area residents buzzing.

A videographer flew a drone recently over the corpse of White Flint Mall, where demolition began earlier this month to make way for a new wave of development in Rockville.
The 38-year-old mall will give way to an open-air development that blends residential, retail and restaurants with office buildings and parks.
One store remains open, Lord & Taylor, as its owners battle with mall owners over whether their lease was violated when the mall shuttered. WUSA reports both parties are due in court next week to argue over damages.

YouTube user Mike Purks posted the eerie video June 25, which combines video shot with a GoPro camera while walking through the empty, dusty hallways with soaring drone footage around the exterior. The video is accompanied by music from the “Nightmare on Elm Street” horror film.
Viewers called the footage creepy, surreal and awesome.

It prompted memories of the mall in better times, from the first showing of “Star Wars” to one person’s first kiss.
