Police Identify Woman Who Died After Potomac River Rescue
Police say Karjia Jiang, 53, of China, was visiting family

POTOMAC—A woman who died early Friday morning after being pulled from the Potomac River came from China to visit family in Great Falls, VA.
Montgomery County police said Karjia Jiang, 53, reportedly told family she was going for a walk in Great Falls National Park. But later that morning, rescuers pulled her from the Potomac River after witnesses saw her in the water and called 9-1-1, Potomac Patch has reported.Â
Jiang was pronounced dead at Suburban Hospital.

Police said it was unknown how Jiang got in the water and said foul play was not suspected.
As the investigation continues, police have asked people with information to contact the Montgomery County Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
