Residents Demand #FairAccess4WesternMoCoMD at County Exec. Forums
Parents and Town Organize to Bring New High School to Poolesville With Facility for Safety and Health Services
The Committee for Fair Access for Western Montgomery County consists of town commissioners, parents, and residents of the Ag Reserve that all want one thing - equity for the Western County area.
If you look at a map, you'll see that county services are readily available for our neighbors down county, but there's no senior center, community center, police station or hospital within several miles of the Ag Reserve.
There's also no regular public transportation to help our neighbors again in place travel to their doctor's appointments. So we're asking Montgomery County for equity in our area with a side of innovation, a driving force for our large county.

We're proposing a collocated facility on the current Poolesville High School campus that includes a modern high school building, a community center offering recreational and senior services, a police substation, and a clinic to provide health services.
The county's planning department has been researching the benefits of collocation and School Superintendent Dr. Jack Smith agrees the future will include these ideas.
