3 Candidates Apply For School Board Seat

ODENTON-SEVERN, MD - From Anne Arundel County Public Schools: The School Board Appointment Commission of Anne Arundel County received three applications for the vacant District 32 seat on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County by today’s noon deadline, and will interview those candidates at a meeting on November 14, 2017.

• Foster Driver of Glen Burnie
• Christopher Kervick of Severn
• Cheri Thornton-Conner of Severn

The 13-member commission is charged with appointing individuals to fill vacancies on the Board of Education as the Board transitions from an entirely appointed Board to one that is entirely elected.

It will begin candidate interviews at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, in the Board Room of Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis.

A meeting to vote on an appointment is scheduled for Monday, November 27, at the Parham Building.
Commission meetings are open to the public and televised live on AACPS-TV, which can be found on Channel 96 on Comcast and Broadstripe, and Channel 36 on Verizon. High definition broadcasts can be seen on Channel 996 on Comcast, Channel 496 on Broadstripe, and 1961 on Verizon. Meetings are also broadcast live on the internet here.
