Odenton Carnival, Memorial Day Parade Canceled Due To Pandemic
The Odenton carnival and Memorial Day parade are canceled. The fire department hopes the events will return next year.

ODENTON, MD — The Odenton Volunteer Fire Company canceled its annual carnival and parade. The carnival was slated to take place from Tuesday to May 31. The parade was also scheduled for Memorial Day on Monday, May 31.
The fire department announced the news on April 8. This is the second straight year that the coronavirus pandemic disrupted the tradition, which started in July 1934.
"The fire company hopes to host the carnival at the usual time in 2022 as it is one of the largest fundraisers for the fire company," spokesperson Patti Kidwell wrote on Patch. "The officers and members of the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company ask for your patience and appreciate your continued support."
