Odenton New Year's Events: 2018 Guide

New Year's Eve is nearly here, so it's time to make your plans. Here's your guide to fireworks and other events set for the Odenton area.

HANOVER, MD – Love it or hate it, New Year’s Eve is happening again this year. Whether you plan to ring in 2018 at your favorite restaurant, a buzzing party with your friends, an early night out with the kids, or all cozied up in front of the TV, we’ve got you covered.

So pop the bubbly, come up with some resolutions you can actually stick to and get ready to celebrate the New Year. Check out town-by-town listings below of New Year’s celebrations and events for 2017 in Anne Arundel County if you’re one to want to go out, plus a look at what television programming may make you want to stay in.

Be sure to bundle up on Sunday. The daytime high will be a nippy 24 degrees, says the National Weather Service, while the overnight low will be a numbing 12 degrees.

Skate Zone's New Year's Eve Decades Party: The skating rink urges customers to come in on Dec. 31 dressed in gear from their favorite decade. Admission is $25; skate rental is included. The rink is at 1082 Route 3 South at Capitol Raceway Road in Crofton. For more information call 410-721-7155.

Maryland Live! Casino in Hanover: Groovin' With 40 Years of Disco Fever is the theme for the New Year's Eve celebration at Live! Center Stage with a Bee Gees Tribute Band. Doors open at 8 p.m. with a DJ; the BeeGees Gold Tribute Ban plans from 9 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. Tickets are free. Musical act Tom Pizzi and Patricia Durante will also perform from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. that night in the R Bar.

NYE 2018: A Celebration of the Centuries: Medieval Times in Hanover, 7000 Arundel Mills Circle, will hold a two-hour tournament, four-course feast for the whole family. Tour the museum, enjoy music and dancing and a countdown to midnight with the knights of the realm. The cost is $72.95 for adults and $36.95 for kids. The admission is valid only for the 9:45 pm show on Dec. 31.

Annapolis New Year's Eve: Family activities fill the day and music and dancing fills the night at this free celebration. Participants should park at Park Place garage and take City of Annapolis-provided shuttles to and from the location. Activities will include face painting, an obstacle course, moon bounces and music performed by kids’ rock bands. The first round of festivities wraps up with on-site fireworks at about 5:30 p.m. Then, it’s off to area restaurants for dinner with the kids.

The second round of festivities includes live music and dancing at Susan Campbell Park at City Dock beginning at 8 p.m. and ending with midnight fireworks.

New Year’s Eve at Rams Head On Stage: 33 West Street, Annapolis (410) 268-4545. Tickets to the show include appetizers, a gourmet buffet dinner, dessert, and a champagne toast at midnight.

New Year's Eve Fireworks Cruise in Annapolis: December 31, 2017 Greet the New Year onboard the Catherine Marie, Watermark's flagship vessel. Watch the fireworks over Annapolis and enjoy cocktails, dancing, party favors and festive decor. Light snacks and full cash bar. Location: 1 Dock St, Annapolis. Call: 410-268-7601 for information.

Baltimore Area Events:

The New Year's Eve Spectacular will light up the Inner Harbor. Music will begin in the amphitheater area around 9 p.m., and the Pandora Ice Rink will be open until 12:30 a.m. As the clock strikes midnight, a fireworks show will signal the beginning of 2018. The event is free and open to the public.

Watch the fireworks by boat on the Charm City New Year's Eve Fireworks Cruise. Take in the sights from the yacht "The Raven," while partaking in dancing and a cocktail party on the water. Tickets are $83, and the cruise from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. is for those 21 and up only.

Power Plant Live is hosting NYE Live 2018! from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be all-access passes to 10 bars and clubs, including a balloon drop, laser show, confetti and large-screen TVs showing the ball dropping in Times Square. Tickets include buffet, a champagne toast and more. They start at $85.

“New Year’s Eve Live” With Anderson Cooper And Andy Cohen
Where to catch it: CNN starting at 8 p.m. ET
Why you should watch: For the first time ever, Anderson Cooper will host CNN’s annual New Year’s Eve Live special with none other than “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen. As these two are best friends in real life, you can expect tons witty banter and hilarious moments from the pair. The Bravo mogul will replace Cooper’s former co-host Kathy Griffin, whom CNN fired after her controversial Donald Trump photoshoot.

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2018” Hosted by Ryan Seacrest
Where to catch it: ABC starting at 8 p.m. ET
Why you should watch: Remember last year’s infamous Mariah Carey mic incident? Yes, it happened on Seacrest’s watch. So if that’s any indication, this could be a good one to tune-in to. And even if there aren’t any crazy celebrity snafus, you can count on crazy views of Time Square packed with people, as well as awesome musical performances.
