Police Warn Hanover, Severn Residents About String of Burglaries

Police are asking residents between Hanover and Severn to keep an eye out for potential burglaries.

Anne Arundel County police are advising residents to be on the lookout for burglars in the Severn and Hanover area. Officers responded to three attempted burglaries near Severn and a burglary in the Harmans community of Hanover, between Friday night and early Saturday.

In three of the incidents, an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter homes on the streets listed below, but failed to gain entry:

  • 7600 block of Fairbanks Court
  • 1400 block of Gesna Drive
  • 7700 block of Baggins Road

In the fourth incident, police said an unknown number of suspects forcibly entered a residence on the 7600 block of Ridge Chapel Road and stole property.

Residents were home and sleeping during all four incidents, according to police.

The department is asking residents to be on lookout for suspicious vehicles and people, and call 911 to report suspicious activities. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact Detective W. Sweeney at 410-222-6155.
