Road Alert: Temporary Closure of MD 198 Near MD 32
Maryland D.O.T.'s State Highway Administration will temporarily close a section of MD 198 overnight on August 6.
From the Maryland State Highway Administration:
The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close a section of MD 198 in Anne Arundel County on Saturday night, August 6 to perform utility work.
During this overnight work, contractors will pull cables, by crane, from one side of MD 198 at Bald Eagle Drive to the other and place the new cables into new conduits. This work is part of overall utility upgrades in the area.

Crews will work on site between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday through to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning August 7. Residents and businesses will have access to their properties while the work is being completed.
To avoid the work area, drivers will be directed to use the following detour:

- Motorists traveling west on MD 198 using MD 32 will be directed to MD 295 south to MD 198. Motorists traveling east on MD 198 will be directed on MD 295 north. Follow MD 295 north to eastbound MD 32 toward Fort Meade.
