Severn Man Wins $50K From A Scratch-Off Ticket

The 64-year-old man was headed to a repair shop when he popped into the store and bought a ticket.

SEVERN, MD — When headed to a mechanic to have his truck repaired, a 64-year-old Severn man popped into Quarterfield Liquors in Glen Burnie first. He perused the latest selection of Maryland Lottery scratch tickets and purchased a $5 20X The Cash instant ticket. While scratching the numbers in the parking lot, he realized that he had won $50,000.

“I had just gotten it cranked up when I began to scratch the ticket. Pretty soon I was in tears,” said the winner. “I never did make it to the repair shop.”

The lucky player said his prize funds would most likely help eliminate a few bills and add to his savings account. Quarterfield Liquors also earns a bonus of $500 for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off in the game.
