Travel dates in the U.S. are between Aug. 21 and Dec. 12, excluding blackout dates. Labor Day and dates around Thanksgiving are among those excluded.

Flights are also not available on Friday or Sunday and the sale is limited to non-stop trips, which could throw a wrench in any weekend getaway plans.

The fares are not refundable, but can go toward future travel on Southwest, so long as you cancel your reservation “at least ten minutes” prior to departure.

The sale comes a day after Southwest announced that it expects to see a 3 percent drop this quarter for per-mile revenue. Southwest has seen fewer bookings since a deadly April 17 incident, in which a jet engines caught fire and sent a piece of shrapnel through a window. The plane’s cabin depressurized and a woman was partially sucked out of the plane. She died from her injuries.

In May, a ground crew pickup truck slammed into a Southwest Airlines plane at BWI, injuring the truck driver and forcing passengers to sit on the plane for two hours, according to reports. Flight 6263 had just landed from Fort Lauderdale and was approaching a gate to disembark travelers when the accident occurred.
