Update: Officers Identified in Shootout with Arundel Mills Suspect

James Coleman, the suspect in the murders at Arundel Mills, was killed after a shootout with police in Prince George's County, said officials.

Update, 11/15: The Prince George’s County police department has identified in District Heights this past weekend.

  • 15-year veteran Lt. Michael Snyder
  • 23-year veteran Sgt. Terrence Nelson
  • 13-year veteran Cpl. James Weinelt
  • 11-year veteran Cpl. Phillip Foster
  • 2-year police officer Paul Gambardella
  • 1-year police officer William Ledward  

All of the involved officers are assigned to the District III Bureau of Patrol. Each has been placed on routine administrative leave in accordance with departmental policy.

During the incident, . He was treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not life threatening, and released that same day. He’s the third county police officer to be shot in the line of duty this year.
