13-Year-Old Charged with Attempted Robbery, Assault

An Owings Mills teen was charged in an incident that sent an 18-year-old Baltimore man to the hospital.

A 13-year-old Owings Mills boy is charged with attempted robbery and assault after he hospitalized an 18-year-old.

The teen pulled a knife on the 18-year-old in an attempt to rob him on Friday, May 10, at 4:14 p.m., behind the Giant store at 9730 Groffs Mill Drive. After putting the knife away, the boy assaulted him. The man was sent to Sinai Hospital for non-life-threatening facial injuries, said Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the Baltimore County Police’s Franklin precinct.

The 13-year-old was charged with attempted armed robbery and first- and second-degree assault.

“The victim actually went [behind the store] with his friend because they were engaged in a fight, and during this fight, this suspect…allegedly pulled the knife and tried to rob our victim,” Doarnberger said.
