4 Counties Under Flood Warning In Central Maryland
Up to 2 inches of rain fell in some areas, the National Weather Service warned. Montgomery County is under a flash flood warning.
With rain pelting down Halloween night, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for several Maryland counties. The agency cautioned drivers and pedestrians to be aware that it may be difficult to recognize flooding in the dark.
Up to 2 inches of rain have already fallen, the weather service warned after 9:50 p.m. Thursday, and thunderstorms with heavy rain remained over the area.
The flood warning is effective until 3:45 a.m. Friday.

These counties are under the flood warning:
- Baltimore (northwestern)
- Carroll (eastern)
- Howard (northwestern)
- Montgomery (north central)
Officials said the following towns may get flooding: Germantown, Westminster, Randallstown, Montgomery Village, Owings Mills, Eldersburg, Reisterstown, Mount Airy, Hampstead, Manchester, Sykesville, Oakland, Gamber, Laytonsville, Finksburg, Carrollton, Freeland, Upperco, Henryton and Winfield.

If you see water of unknown depth, officials advise: "Turn around; don't drown."
Already Flooding Has Been Reported
Reports of flooding have come in from Howard and Montgomery counties.
There was flooding around the Mall in Columbia, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported after 10:15 p.m., noting there were no active rescues but crews were assisting drivers whose cars were in water.
Montgomery County is under a flash flood warning until 12:30 a.m. Officials advised flash flooding, or a rapid rise in water level, was anticipated, particularly in areas prone to flash flooding such as Great Seneca Creek near Great Seneca Park. Germantown, Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, North Potomac, Darnestown and Washington Grove may experience flash flooding.
