Acclaimed Dance Ensemble To Take Stage At Gordon Center

The AXIS Dance Company has appeared on TV and stages across the world. Its latest tour includes a stop in Owings Mills this weekend.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — An internationally known dance troupe will perform at the Gordon Center in Owings Mills this weekend. AXIS Dance Company has been featured twice on the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance" and has performed around the globe.

The ensemble includes performers, some of whom have disabilities and others who do not, coming together in unique ways for choreographed contemporary dance.

The AXIS Dance Company was founded in 1987 and is based in California. The Gordon Center is one of a handful of stops on the troupe's tour. Others are in New York, California and North Carolina.

The show at the Gordon Center in Owings Mills is a special event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Maryland State Arts Council’s 50th year and is part of the 5th annual Take a Leap Baltimore County Dance Celebration.

The performance is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts, 3506 Gwynnbrook Avenue, Owings Mills, MD 21117.

Tickets are $20 per child and $30 per adult in advance and $25 and $35 at the door, respectively.
