Area 'Five Below' Stores to Raise Money for Fallen Firefighter's Family

Seven area Five Below stores are teaming together to help raise money for the family of the volunteer firefighter who was killed while battling a four-alarm apartment blaze in Hillendale last month.

The participating stores—Golden Ring, Hunt Valley, , Arundel Mills, Columbia and Bel Air—have pledged to donate 10 percent of sales from Feb. 13-19 to the Baltimore County Fallen Firefighters Foundation fund set up to assist the family of Mark Falkenhan.

The 43-year-old Falkenhan, who lived in Middle River, died Jan. 19 while fighting an apartment fire. He left behind his wife, Gladys, and two sons, Christian, 14, and Garrett, 5.

Those wishing to participate in this fundraiser are asked to bring in the attached flier to the cashier at the time of purchase.
