Baltimore County Closures Due To Snow Thursday, Feb. 18

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Several cancellations have been announced due to winter weather in the forecast for Baltimore County.

The National Weather Service placed Baltimore County under a winter storm warning from 3 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. Parts of the county could see 3 to 8 inches of snow.

Baltimore County Public Schools will continue with virtual learning. Athletic practices are virtual, and games have been canceled. School employees work remotely. “Essential” employees report on time for assigned shifts. “Essential as needed” employees report to work as scheduled (including working remotely) or may request to use leave time. Other office staff should work remotely.

Baltimore County Government offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 18. Emergency and essential employees must report.

Baltimore County residents whose trash is to be collected Thursday should put it out, and crews will pick it up as soon as possible based on the weather, officials say.

Recycling collection is canceled for Thursday and Friday.

Baltimore County has canceled its COVID-19 vaccination and testing clinics Thursday, Feb. 18, and Friday, Feb. 19.

Those who made appointments for vaccines with the Baltimore County health department will be getting emails with new appointment dates.

Those with COVID-19 testing appointments through the Baltimore County health department can reschedule at www.baltimorecountymd.gov/covid-19/testing.

Towson University will be closed, with remote classes and telework canceled Thursday, Feb. 18.
