Brian Marcos, Candidate for District 10 State Delegate

Sharing a few topics of concerns that are important to our community.

Hello my name is Brian Marcos and I am a candidate for Maryland State Delegate in District 10.

I decided to run because I believe the current leadership in our community is not fighting hard enough for us. I've lived in our district for nearly 30 years. Over the years their has bean a steady decline in safety, education, entrepreneurship, and no signs of things getting better.

I have a son who starts school in two years and another child on the way. I don't have time to sit and hope our current representatives start caring for us and start turning things around. We all work and pay our taxes and yet we so no real results. Baltimore County Police data shows a 14.5% increase in violent crime in just one year, from 2016-2017. My number one responsibility will be making sure that our citizens are safe at home, school, work and everywhere in between. We have great dedicated law enforcement officers, and I believe we need to give the tools, training and resources they need to maintain doing their jobs well and keep our communities safe.

When it comes to education, I will always be a strong advocate for our teachers, parents and students. It doesn't matter what isle you fall on politically, we must not make excuses when it comes to our children. Schools infrastructure, safety, teacher and students will always be priority to me, and I will always vote on their behalf to ensure we are doing everything possible to help.

A major concern that is getting worse every year, is the large amount of business closures from Liberty Rd, to Main St. I will advocate to invest in local business owners to ensure they prosper and we can open up all of these empty buildings.

As I travel our community, I'm surprised to see how many of our residents do not know their representatives or what they are responsible for. I want to change that, representatives should be transparent, involved, smart and efficient. After all, we are here to ensure our District's citizens are heard, and represented with their needs first, not one person alone.

So I ask everyone to please, Stop voting all Blue or all Red, vote for the right person who actually has something to lose and not just another career Politian who is voted in based on "all blue" or party alone status. Lets vote smart this year, lets build a bright future for all of us.
