When should you put your Christmas tree out in Owings Mills, Reisterstown?

Baltimore County will start picking up Christmas trees for curbside collection on Monday, Jan. 11.
The cutoff for putting trees out is Saturday, Jan. 16.
County trash and recycling trucks will pick up the trees, which will be chipped and turned into mulch. Residents who live in apartments or condos should follow their property manager’s rules when recycling their Christmas trees.

To ensure collection of your tree, follow these guidelines from Baltimore County:
- Set out live trees; no artificial trees will be picked up.
- Remove lights, decorations, tinsel, trees stands, etc.
- Put trees on the curb or street; no trees will be picked up in alleys.
Residents can drop off their Christmas trees themselves starting Saturday, Dec. 26, to any one of the county’s three drop-off locations. Lights, decorations, tinsel, tree stands and any other trimmings must be removed from the trees before they will be accepted.
