Frost Advisory Issued For Baltimore County
The National Weather Service issued an advisory due to falling temperatures in the forecast for Baltimore County and other areas.
With plummeting temperatures in the forecast, the National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for parts of Maryland. The advisory takes effect Sunday morning.
Temperatures will be between 33 and 36 degrees in some areas, according to the advisory, which says frost may form as a result.
The frost advisory is in effect from 2 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, for these areas:

- Baltimore County
- Harford County
- Howard County
- Montgomery County
Specifically, the frost advisory said these locations may be impacted: Reisterstown, Cockeysville, Germantown, Damascus, Lisbon and Jarrettsville. In addition to north-central Maryland, the National Weather Service issued the advisory for northern and central Virginia and portions of eastern West Virginia where the growing season is still in effect.
Officials advise frost may kill sensitive vegetation if it is left uncovered outside. People should take steps to protect tender plants from the cold, such as bringing in houseplants that are outside.

Crops should be watered to conserve heat, then covered with a cloth or sheet. Pick up the cover mid-morning Sunday.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, 33-degree temperatures can damage tomato plants as well as summer squash, sweet corn, sweet potatoes and watermelons.
