Good Time, Good Cause: Tailgate at the Harbour School this Weekend

Check out this tailgate-inspired fundraiser at the Harbour School on Saturday.

The Harbour School is hosting its second annual Tailgate at Harbour event Saturday, Nov. 9 to raise money for the school's Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math Program (STEAM) program.

This fun night of games will also include a money wheel, 50/50 raffle, a chili cook-off, corn hole contests and tailgate food and drinks.

The school is raising money to enhance the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math Program (STEAM). The proceeds from this event will be used to purchase 3D printers, which are able to produce a three-dimensional object of virtually any shape from a digital model. In addition, the school plans to add to its engineering curriculum by adding a robotics program.

The unique Village Curriculum will also be enhanced with a point of sale program where students will have debit cards in order to purchase goods and services from the various Village businesses in the school. The debit cards will be used in conjunction with an iPad app. The school previously raised enough money to have an iPad for every student.

The Harbour School is a nonpublic school serving students ages 6-21. Students at the school have been diagnosed as having learning disabilities, high functioning autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, other health impaired (primarily ADHD) and multi-disabled.
