I-695 Crash Jams Traffic Near Liberty Road

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A crash on Interstate 695 snarled traffic Wednesday morning in the area of Liberty Road. Transportation officials said lane closures were in effect after 8:30 a.m.

The lanes had reopened by 9:15 a.m., according to the State Highway Administration.

The three-vehicle crash occurred on the outer loop of the beltway past the exit for MD 26/Liberty Road around 8:16 a.m., officials reported. Only the right lane was getting by for about the next hour.

Backups are significant, according to Fox 45, which advised drivers to take Reisterstown Road or Greenspring Avenue as alternate routes.
