'It's A Wonderful Life' on Stage in Owings Mills

ArtsCentric is bringing its adapted version of "It's a Wonderful Life" to stage at the Garland Theater in Owings Mills.

ArtsCentric’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” is a modern day version of the holiday classic and uses a multicultural cast to tell the story of George Bailey, by transitioning scenes between past and present day.  In a flashback, George is seen abandoning his big dreams for the good of his town, Bedford Falls. In the present, we find George feeling broken and suicidal on Christmas Eve over the misplacement of an $8000 cash-loan.

Bailey’s guardian angel Clarence, falls to Earth, literally, and shows George how his town, family, and friends would turn out if he had never been born.

ArtsCentric often teams up with a charitable organization when it puts on productions, according to the Baltimore Sun. A portion of proceeds from "It's a Wonderful Life" will be used to help the Family Tree's Adopt-A-Family program.

"It's a Wonderful Life" will run weekends Dec. 6 to Dec. 15 at the Garland Theater, Garrison Forest School, 300 Garrison Forest Rd. in Owings Mills. Tickets are $20 to $25. Call 410-504-5398, or go to artscentric.net.
