Kamenetz Celebrates Opening of Metro Centre at Owings Mills

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz celebrated the opening of the Metro Crossing luxury apartments in the Metro Centre at Owings Mills, Baltimore County's first transit oriented development.

The two five-story Metro Crossing buildings, with 232 apartments and ground floor retail and restaurant space, are along the development's Grand Central Avenue. They are next to the Owings Mills Metro station and the new County Campus at Metro Centre library and community college building.

"This is a landmark year for the Metro Centre at Owings Mills," said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz in a statement. "The County's largest library branch opened in March, the Community College of Baltimore County center held its first classes in July, and now the first residents of Metro Crossing are enjoying all the conveniences of town center living."

Metro Centre at Owings Mills is being developed by Owings Mills Transit, LLC.  David S. Brown Enterprises, LTD is the site manager.  

The one and two bedroom Metro Crossing apartments feature a club room with multi-media lounge, fitness facility and billiards and a rooftop reflecting pool.

When the mixed-use Metro Centre at Owings Mills is completed, it will include the 120,000 square foot County Campus library and Community College; more than 1.2 million square feet of Class "A" office space; 300,000 square feet of complementary retail and restaurant space; 1,700 residential units; and a hotel with up to 250 rooms, according to a county news release.

"Metro Centre at Owings Mills makes the most of its transit-oriented location. Residents at Metro Crossing can walk to shops, restaurants, classes at the community college, or events at the library or in the public plaza," Kamenetz said.
