Main Street Committee Update

The committee aiming to earn Reisterstown a Main Street Maryland designation continues to refine its efforts and find new ways of bringing Main Street merchants together.

The five subcommittees had this to report at Monday’s meeting:

• The economic restructuring committee, lead by Paul Davalos from Farmers and Merchants Bank, is continuing its market analysis of Main Street and is looking into various ways to help merchants extend their hours.
• The design committee, lead by attorney Irwin Kramer, is looking into design improvements for Main Street.
• The clean, safe and green committee, lead by Dan Carey from Shaneybrook Pluming, are discussing ways to keep the town cleaner and working with business owners to establish a Merchants on Patrol program.
• The promotion committee, lead by lifelong resident and Main Street activist Calvin Reter, will meet next week to discuss ways to help the other committees meet their goals.
• The organization committee, lead by longtime local advocate Mary Molinaro, will meet on Thursday.

The Main Street Committee meets every Monday at 10 a.m. at Reter’s Crab House in Reisterstown.
