Man Arrested for Allegedly Living in Mother’s Vacant Home

A man is charged with fourth-degree burglary after his mother caught him living in her vacant home, police say.

A 23-year-old man is charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into his mother’s vacant Owings Mills home.

Aaron Brian Smith was found living at the home on the 12300 block of Boncrest Drive in Reisterstown at 9:50 a.m. on Feb. 9, according to police. He did not have permission to be at the home, which had been vacant for more than a year, according to Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the Baltimore County Police’s Franklin Precinct.

Smith’s mother returned to the home to show it to some potential buyers when she found him living there, police say. After a confrontation, he left on foot and police spotted him nearby. He is charged with fourth-degree burglary, Doarnberger said.
