McDonogh School Makes Newsweek's Top STEM List

OWINGS MILLS, MD — One school in Owings Mills was named among the best for STEM education, according to Newsweek. McDonogh School ranked No. 459 out of 500 on the news magazine's "Top 500 STEM list."

To come up with its rankings, educational research company STEM.org used a proprietary regression analysis. It assessed data from the second quarter of 2015 through the third quarter of 2019 to find out which schools in America best offer students experiences in STEM while preparing them for post-secondary outcomes, such as college or careers. The rankings took into consideration affluence and median household income, among other factors, according to Newsweek.

McDonogh was one of 15 schools in Maryland to make the list. Of those, three were private— Gilman (No. 312) and Bryn Mawr (No. 412) were the others.

Here are the top schools in the country for STEM, according to Newsweek:

10. Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science: Worcester, Massachusetts
