Metro Centre at Owings Mills Leases First Apartments
The Baltimore County library branch and a new CCBC campus are already up and running, now apartments are being leased.
One year after breaking ground, the Metro Centre at Owings Mills is becoming a reality as residential apartments and office space are being leased.Â
The Metro Centre, a 1.6 million-square-foot development still under construction at the Owings Mills metro stop, has started leasing the first 232 apartments in the 1,700-unit residential component of the $500 million project, according to the developer's website.Â
The David S. Brown Enterprises Ltd. transit-oriented project includes 1.2 million square feet of office space; 300,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space; and 120,000 square feet of educational facilities. A 250-room hotel is also planned, according to the developer.
The six-story, 120,000 square foot building overlooking Rt. 795 houses a branch of the Baltimore County Public Library, which opened this past spring. The facility is also home to an expanded location for the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). Owned by Baltimore County, the estimated construction cost is $25 million, according to the developer.Â
