MLK Day 2016: What's Open, Closed in Baltimore County
Baltimore County recognizes Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 18, 2016.

Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January. It celebrates the life and achievements of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
State and federal offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, while retail stores and most other businesses will be open.

There will be a Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Baltimore City from noon to 2 p.m. with grand marshals Ravens running back Justin Forsett and The Wire’s Sonja Sohn. The parade starts on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Eutaw Street, travels south on MLK and ends at Baltimore Street. Spectators can watch along the route or near the reviewing stand at MLK and Franklin Street.
