RANDALLSTOWN, MD — Northwest Hospital staff cheered on its 700th patient released after being treated for the coronavirus.

Cynthia Kearney received a standing ovation as she left the Randallstown facility at the end of January.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, state health officials say more than 32,000 people have been hospitalized in Maryland with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The Baltimore County woman has been a preschool teacher for 36 years, according to WMAR, which reported she credited her faith and the caring staff at Northwest Hospital with helping her get through the illness.
