Bar Louie Closes In Owings Mills As Chain Files For Bankruptcy

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Bar Louie at Foundry Row abruptly closed over the weekend. The restaurant announced on its Facebook page that its last day of business was Saturday, Jan. 25.

The news comes as the Bar Louie chain confirmed Monday it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and was closing underperforming locations.

The Owings Mills location was one of dozens of Bar Louie restaurants across the nation that quietly closed their doors for good this past weekend. The Rockville Bar Louie also shuttered.

Bar Louie opened in Foundry Row off Reisterstown Road in 2016.

"To our loyal guests, our last day of business was January 25th, 2020," according to a post on the Bar Louie Foundry Row Facebook page. "Please visit us at our White Marsh location or go to www.barlouie.com/locations to find the Bar Louie nearest to you. Thanks for the memories!"

The company plans to continue operating more than 90 locations across the United States, including in Hunt Valley and White Marsh.

"Bar Louie is a profitable business focused on long-term growth with new investors," Tom Fricke, CEO of Bar Louie, said in a news release. "The sale through Chapter 11 will help us to focus on our profitable core locations and expand in areas that have a proven track record of success."
