Owings Mills, New Town Basketball in Playoffs
Girls basketball teams at New Town and Owings Mills high have advanced, and the boys teams will compete in the MPSSAA basketball playoffs.

New Town and Owings Mills high schools’ girls basketball teams have both advanced to the third round in the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) playoffs, and the boys teams play their first games this week.
In MPSSAA basketball, every team gets a chance to compete in the playoffs.
New Town’s girls, playing in the 1A North division, will take on Friendship Academy of Science and Technology at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at home.

Owings Mills’ girls team, playing the 2A North division, plays Chesapeake at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Both boys teams, who have yet to play their first playoff games, are competing in the same divisions as the girls teams. New Town’s boys team got a buy to the second round, and will take on the winner of Friendship Academy of Engineering and Technology vs. Havre de Grace, which takes to place Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. New Town’s game will take place on Thursday, Feb. 28.

Owings Mills’ boys team takes on Lansdowne in the first round at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at home. The winner play Loch Raven on Thursday, Feb. 28.
