Parade to Celebrate 100 Years of Reisterstown Volunteer Fire

Main Street will be closed from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company will celebrate its 100th Anniversary with a parade down Main Street Saturday morning.

Main Street between Chartley Drive and the Reisterstown Village Shopping Center – where Food Lion is located – will be closed from about 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., said Calvin Reter, a member of the fire company.

Although there was a possibility of cancelling the parade after the company lost firefighter Gene Kirchner earlier this month because of injuries sustained in a fire, the Kirchner family insisted the parade go on as planned, Reter said.
