'Queen Of The Beach Read' Coming To Owings Mills

An author known for her beach books is speaking at the Owings Mills Library's Booklovers Bash.

BCPL: New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand will be the featured speaker at Baltimore County Public Library’s second annual Booklovers Bash. Known as the “queen of the beach read," Hilderbrand graduated from Johns Hopkins University and moved to Nantucket where she has lived for 25 years.

Recently published Summer of '69 is the author’s 23rd book and her first to debut at number one on the New York Times fiction list. Hilderbrand will discuss her newest book, What Happens in Paradise, which was released yesterday.

The second-annual Booklovers Bash, an “afternoon book lovers’ extravaganza,” will feature a panel of librarians discussing the year’s hottest books. The panel will discuss books of various genres, give recommendations and answer questions. Sales from The Ivy Bookshop and signings of What Happens in Paradise and other Elin Hilderbrand books will take place following the program.

Booklovers Bash will be held on Saturday, October 12 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. While Hilderbrand will speak at approximately 3 p.m., seating for this free event will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
