Reisterstown Shelter Needs Help After Rain

REISTERSTOWN, MD — The Humane Society of Reisterstown has been hit by the severe weather recently. Now the shelter is asking for help.

Here is a message that the nonprofit on Nicodemus Road sent to its contacts this week:

"The unrelenting rains have forced our hands. Both dog kennel roofs are in immediate need of being replaced. Replacing a flat roof is a costly venture and we need your help. Because we don't receive operational funding from the government or any national humane society, we rely on the support of the community to help us keep our doors open. Without you we could not save the lives of so many homeless pets in need."

To donate to the Humane Society, people can use the following methods:

• Make checks payable to Baltimore Humane Society, 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
• Call the Baltimore Humane Society office at 410-833-8848 x212 to make a donation by phone.
